Adaptation!

Today, we spoke briefly about adaptation, which is the theme for the curriculum on the middle school team. Essentially every part of a living organism is some form of adaptation, but some adaptations are cooler than others. One of my personal favorite adaptations is bioluminescence, the ability of an organism to produce its own light (like fireflies). Check out this video: NY Times

Define "adaptation" and then give an example of one of your favorites. As always, please write a complete paragraph.

Adaptation means that you have grown or you are growing in a place where you have to be like a new home or new school. You evantually get use to it after a while and you have adapted to your new school and home. My favorite is the Green Eel it uses the green for either camofluage or other Eels think its attractive.
That is not proven but it's a theory.

Adaptations are physical traits given to a living thing to help it survive in its environment. Fur, gills, fins, and wings, for example. Stuff like that. I like the idea of monkey tails. They help with climbing, reaching, hanging, balance, anything. I wish I had a tail. Oh, right...I actually do!

Adaptation is something all living things have that help them survive in their environment. Adaptation allows organisms to survive when moving to a new location. Some animals can blend in to their surroundings while others can stay underwater for long amounts of time. The cuttlefish has a pretty cool adaptation. It can change the color of its skin to match the color in its surroundings in seconds so that predators can't see it.

Adaption is a way a species can survive in a specific climate. One example is that the Camouflage fish, which has a green pattern to camouflage itself and hide from predators.

Adaptation helps animals hide from a predator, get food, or hide and wait for prey. Echolocation which is in dolphins and bats. Helps them get food. Echolocation is my favorite because it helps some animals not to starve.

Adaptation is when a species or thing adapts to its environment. For example, if a bear is born when it's warm and it gets colder and colder as the bears reproduce their species gets more familiar with the environment. -Emily

Adaptation is the process of an animal species or plant species fits into its environment. My favorite type is spruce trees. they adapt to the cold so they can survive the cold long winter.

Adaptation is when a life form must conform to its environment or it will die. I think one of the coolest adaptations is the fossa’s retractable claws with claws like this it can climb down trees head first. It is also one of the biggest predators on the island of Madagascar. Its only about 19 pounds (the size of a large chihuahua) but can still be one of the largest predators on the island (super cute its so tiny).

Adaptation is changing to match the environment to increase the chances of survival. My favorite example is the peppered moth. The peppered moth was a white moth with black flecks: a perfect camouflage for their birch forest homes. Then, as time went on, soot and smog from nearby factories blackened the birch trees. This improved the survival rates of a strain of peppered moth that was black with white flecks: perfect for their newly black forest homes.

Adaptation are changes that animals and plants do to survive in their environment. Like camouflage, they change their look to match the environment to hide themselves from predators. The Chameleon can change to multipal different colors to match the back round environment to hide themselves from predators.

Adaptation is everywhere. Our body is always adapting to different things. Some animals can use biofluorescence maybe to see in the dark. Adaptations are changes and adjustments that an organism does when the environment changes. A Favorite Adaptation of mine is hair hair is something that can keep u warm and look cool, so its a win win.

Adaptation comes in many forms. Over long periods of time it is evolution. If a climate becomes very cold for some reason, over a few generations, the animal will have thicker skin. That is just one example. Adaptation happens over shorter periods of time as well, in one lifetime. An animal will adapt to any new environment. If they are a carnivore and are originally from a forest, and come to a plains area, they will have to change their hunting tactics. Over many generations, the animal would probably physically change to better suit these new hunting methods, but in order to survive it would have to adjust without physical changes for a few generations.

Adaptation is when something needs to change for survival. For example there is a cat but lives in the water. So it will adapt by over many years and generations it would grow gills and change to make living easier for them.

adaption is when a species gets used to or changes to be fit with either the environment or other species

my favorite adaption is how white blood cells evolve and adapts to defend new viruses

adaption is when an organism changes to adjust to new environments and forces. my favorite adaptation is wings on a bird

Adaptation is a way to help animals adjust to their environment for survival. Adaptation helps animals when hiding from predators, when hunting, and when trying to mate. The way the glowing eel displayed its ability at the beginning was a great example. The glow could be used to attract a mate, camouflage like the man said, or to scare off predators.

Adaptation means to adapt to your surroundings.
Like you would adapt the traits that you are in or near
