Kingdom Plantae!

"It's not easy being green."
- Kermit, the Frog

Until about 500 million years ago, the life on this planet was almost purely aquatic. Photosynthetic organisms covered the world's oceans while the land remained a desolate, barren wasteland. In those early days of life's history on Earth, it was hard to imagine that one day the land would be covered in living organisms. The first multicellular plants most likely came from green algae which teamed up with a fungus, similarly to how lichen survives today. This symbiotic relationship continues to be a popular way to move energy through the ecosystem, as four-fifths of modern plants have fungal partners (called mycorrhizae), on their roots.

Plants provide nearly all of the food that supports terrestrial life. They are now the dominant feature of land life. The angiosperms, or flowering plants, are the most diverse with more than 275,000 species.

1. Helped increase the area of absorption.

2. The main characteristics of plants are their leaves, flowers and waxy leaf coating.

3. Xylem carries water and phloem carried nutrients to the plants.

4. Fruit is a protective structure for the plant embryo.

5. Angiosperm is more complex than other plants because they evolved the flowers and fruits to protect their embryos.

1. mycorrhiza means fungus roots.

2.live on land adapt to the conditions on land, waxy cuticle- drying out, absorb water, they all have leaves, and some type of coat around the out side of the plant.

3. Xylem Water-conducting tissue of plant and and Phloem the source of nutrient.

4. it is the protective structure of the plant

5. evolve their flower and protect their embryos

1. it helps plants by increasing the surface area for absorbing .

2. wax on the leaves to prevent dehydration. containes clorophyll and otehr pigments for photosynthasis.

3. xylem tissue carries water for the plant and phloem carries the neutrients to strengthen cell walls.

4. Fruit is the final protective sturcture for the embryos. the fruits contain the seeds or embryos of the plants kindom.

5. because they evolvoe the fruit and flowers to protect teh embryos

6. my favorite plant is wild roses because i like how they look.

1. What does mycorrhizal fungi do for plants? Help increase the area of absorption.

2. What are the main characteristics of plants? 1 is adapting from water to land. 2 They have a special wax to protect them from dehydration. And 3 adapted from the water.

3. What is xylem and phloem? It is water that help gives nutrients to the plants.

4. What is fruit? Evolved 150years ago is embryos, witch evolves into fruit.

5. Why is an angiosperm more complex than other plants? Because they start as a flower but to protect their embryos, turn into fruits

6. What is your favorite plant and why? The Jade plant! because it has an awesome name!

1. What does mycorrhizal fungi do for plants?
Helps to increase the surface area for absorption

2. What are the main characteristics of plants?
Adaptations like flagella, fertilization and they developed guard cells.

3. What is xylem and phloem?
Xylem tissue is used to carry water and phylum tissue to parts of the plant to make it grow.

4. What is fruit?
Fruit contains the seeds or embryos of the plants.

5. Why is an angiosperm more complex than other plants?
Because the angiosperm plants developed flowers and fruits to protect their embryos.

6. What is your favorite plant and why?

venus fly trap. I know it doesn't really eat fly but i really enjoy the idea of a plant that closes before your eyes when touched.

Help increase the surface for absorption.

What are the main characteristics of plants?
Plants contain chlorophyll a and b and other pigment for photosynthesis

What is xylem and phloem?
xylem carries water. phloem carries nutrients .

What is fruit?
fruit contains seeds, or emryos

1. What does mycorrhizal fungi do for plants?-

2. What are the main characteristics of plants?-They are photo synthesizing, and most autotrphs

3. What is xylem and phloem?-Xylem carries water and phloem carried nutrients to the plants.

4. What is fruit?-fruit normally means the fleshy seed-associated structures of certain plants that are sweet and edible in the raw state

5. Why is an angiosperm more complex than other plants? They evolved more then others

6. What is your favorite plant and why?-....

1) it helps expand the area of absorption.

2) there main characteristics are a waxy substance covering there leaves. next is there being able to fertilize outside of water environments. then, being able to absorb water.

3) xylem is a tissue like material that are used to carry water and phloem is also a tissue material that is used to carry nutrients to parts of the plants.
daisys have also been known to be a helpful herbal plants
4) fruit took 300 years to evolve and contain seeds (or embryos) from the plant kingdom

5)its more complex because they use fruits and flowers to keep there embryos safe.

6)my favorite plant is the daisy not just because of my horse but because they are beautiful but even after saying that the daisy is a weed because it is not affected by lawn mowers.

it like helps the fungi like get more water and nutrients.

2. What are the main characteristics of plants?
live on land, got some photosynthesis goin on for them, covered in waxy stuff, and they contain clorophyll.

3. What is xylem and phloem?
xylem carries water and pholem take the nutrients to the places they gotta go.

4. What is fruit?
it protects the embryo.

5. Why is an angiosperm more complex than other plants?
it evolved to like protect its embryo

6. What is your favorite plant and why?

☣ Helps to absorb more water because it increases the surfae area.

☠ They are eukaryotic- means they have a nucleus.
☠ They are autotrophs- makes own food.
☠ Multi-cellar- they have cell walls.

- Xylem carries water up.
- Phloem carries nutrients.

- Protect the embroyos.
- Fruits contains seeds, in the seeds are embroyos.

- Type of plant that produces 2 things.
- Make Flowers, fruits protect embroyos.

My favorite plant is a pumpkin because I like pumpkin pie and pumpkin seeds. I also like making jack- o -lanterns.
